Need to flash my BIOS. Computer originally came with Windows 7. It has been upgraded to Windows 10 since then.
The issue is that I am getting an overheating message.
The computer has been disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled, including new goop on the heat sink.
Message still occuring.
Installed a program to indicate temperatures and all are within parameters. (below 60c)
The available updates include BIOS updates for either Windows 7 or Windows 8.
Am I ok to proceed with the BIOS update for Windows 7, since that matches the original OS (sticker on back)?
(One other thing, if it matters. Ubuntu has been installed on its own partition of the hard drive.)
