Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HELP!!!! Ever since I downloaded the Windows 10 upgrade, my system has been CREEPING!!!!!!!! Disk at 100% Memory at 95% that is completely unworkable. I have tried disabling certain applications, changing settings etc.

I see the instructions for resetting BUT since the machine came with 8 and I installed 10 when the popup from HP for the upgrade came (where it all went wrong), how do I do this so I don't have the same thing happen all over again with the slowness and just an unworkable computer?  I use Chrome but only have about 8 extensions active and when I look on Task Manager is says I have 23 Chrome activities. Have no idea what is going on. Even when Chrome is not open the system is super slow so it's definitely a processing/system issue.

*** One more note, I think I deleted Windows 8 on my computer also as I saw that was something that could be slowing having both on there. Well obviously that didn't help. Is there a way to see if that is on my backup drive. I just DON'T WANT THE SAME ISSUES!!! THE SLOWLESS IS KILLING ME!!!! I would like to go back to 8. Going to 10 isn't worth it.

BTW, purchased computer directly from HP. THANKS!

Hi:

You can try the factory reset option.  If it works, you should have W8 installed again.

If that doesn't work, here is how you can clean install W8.1 by using the W8 product key in your PC's BIOS...

Install W8.1 by creating the Microsoft installation media, using another Windows PC, if yours is not working...You want W8.1 64 bit.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8ISO

Only if you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, use this generic key.

This is the generic key for W8.1 'Standard.'

If you had to enter the generic key, manually change the generic product key to the W8 key in your PC's BIOS in the PC settings menu.

After you get W8.1 installed, and you had to manually enter the W8.1 generic product key, you will need to run the free utility I zipped up and attached below, that will show you show the W8 product key in your PC's BIOS.

I have also zipped up and attached below, the Microsoft tool which hopefully will transfer the ISO file to a DVD or usb flash drive so it is bootable.

Then you can install the available drivers and software from your PC's support page.
