hi Paul, I hope you wiped you feet !
Bootable installation media requires 8GB free space. I'm down to the bare bones already. Can I or will I be allowed to move 'Program Files' &/or Program Files (x86) temporarily over to D Drive (DATA) to achieve space on C Drive. D Drive has 1.52 TB free of 1.80 TB.

Hi:
What I would do is to use a separate USB flash drive of at least 8 GB of space.
That media creation tool will format the entire portable hard drive, so you really don't want to be using that to create the installation media.

Hi Paul,
Please don't laugh.
Trying to find space on C Drive I used 'Treesize Free' to find the big space user. Although I had uninstalled CMS 5 from Apps in Settings, I found it taking up 73 GB and had 12,000 photo's stored. Don't ask my why - I don't know. I had been using the app to watch my Bird Camera. It recorded to a folder on D Drive and I deleted them regularly but obviously the app has been storing them. When I first uploaded it I was not able to set 'Motion Detect' so I had just left the recording running permanently during daylight.
Despite that I will still press on with the 512GB SSD installation.
Now you can laugh.
Bed is calling.
Good night.
Keith

Goodness me, that was some sleep Paul. Did you spike my Cocoa?
More seriously,, your confidence was well founded; we did prevail. We are up and running; all singing and dancing.
I'm now retreiving my favourite photogaphy programs and apps.
As I said previously, you were the only guide that I had approached that interpreted my problem and gave clear instructions.
Gratitude to you.
There's a piece of my 80th birthday cake in the post. (Chocolate ummm).
Regards,
Keith.
