Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an old HP Envy 23 All In One Desktop that I decided to reinstall Windows 10 on. I believe  Windows 8 was first on this machine.

After reinstalling it, there is no mouse cursor on the screen. The keyboard however works. Both of them came with the computer when I purchased it. There was an attached USB in the back of it behind a cover which I took off, and then took  out the USB in another slot. The USB has a blue light that flashes when the mouse is clicked or the keyboard is pressed. However there is still no mouse cursor on the screen

Another thing I noticed after the reinstallation was that the built in audio output device was no longer there.

The mouse cursor did come up when I ran a system extensive test however. But it didnt come up again after.

I tested another wireless USB mouse and that worked fine. However it was from another laptop so of course I prefer to use the mouse it came with

i just find it very strange how both the keyboard and mouse are run by the same USB but only one works.

The batteries are perfectly fine in the mouse by the way. It was working good before I started the reinstalling

Any idea how to fix this?

Here’s a quick update. I moved the USB into another port and the cursor is back on. But still no audio.   It says No Audio Output device is installed.

I’ll try updating my drivers and see if that works.

Hi:

If your PC has the IDT high-definition audio chip, usually installing this W10 IDT audio driver and restarting the PC will get the sound to work again.  Restart the PC after installing the driver.
