Desktop Slimline
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Ihave student who has early stages dementia-in his confusion he thought he had to create yet another Skype account. Problem is not only can he not remember his p/w but because it is a brand new account we cannot answer the supplementary security questions. So I cannot get the system to reinstall.

Added to my frustration the computer has just come back from HP repairs! I had asked twice for W10 to be reinstalled and that was not done! Argh!!!!!

Is there anyway I can reinstall given the above factors or do I have to wait until monday morning?

Hi:

You can clean install W10 by using the media creation tool at the link below.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

If the PC came with W10 from HP, the W10 product key in the BIOS will automatically work with the software.

If the PC was previously upgraded to W10 from W7 or 8.1, then when you get to the part of the installation script where you are asked to enter a product key, select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and activate once you are connected to the internet.

Then go to the model PC's support page to install the drivers and available software.

Thank you, Paul. I think it is working, I have had to change the boot order for it to recognise the USB. So I wll see what happens once the installation is complete.

Thanking you once again!

You're very welcome.

If it is a Windows login password, Google-search for "Nordahl offline password".

This software, when written to a bootable device, and booted from it, can "blank" that password.

If it is a "power-on" password, that's a different question.
