Tried updating the BIOS from F24 to F27 but stuck at Corrupted BIOS message. Recovering goes to 33% then loops.

Ive tried using creating a HP USB BIOS Recovery drive, but the recovery process doesn't use the USB Drive at all, it keeps looping.

Ive tried it through this thread:

HI @DellaMorte7

Welcome back to the Forum

Sorry to hear you cannot recover the BIOS. Maybe this HP Video can help.

Also try steps at this HP Support site.

You may have to have a local PC Tech use a Serial ISP Programmer to fix the BIOS If the above tips don't help.

Or contact HP Support for factory service if desired; your option.

It is very unusual to see a MB BIOS chip fail but anything is possible.

I don't know, maybe you have a bad USB flash drive or the files on the drive are corrupted. Download the BIOS update again. Use a different USB stick.

Have you confirmed you are using the correct BIOS update for your specific HP MB?

Regards

Thanks for the reply!

Ive worked on it for several hours on Saturday, and as I was about to give up (I downloaded the latest BIOS update F27 again but the USB Recovery Drive never got recognized during the BIOS corrupted process) the automated recovery process managed to go past 33% and fully install.

The issue is solved, I'm back at F24.
