Device Manager indicates the driver for my PCI Simple Communications Controller is missing. I tried loading an update but it is still missing. What is the best way to get this driver? I am trying to run a app that needs the driver in order to work properly.  Thanks.

Yes, you can tell your wife you outsmarted the PC good and proper.

The Intel Management Engine Interface device can be found in the device manager under the System Devices category.

Hi, @dbsoccer

If the above driver doesn't work (I don't believe that there is a W10 Intel Management Engine Interface driver for your PC's chipset), the W8.1 driver from the link below should work for you...

Intel(R) AMT LMS_SOL for AMT 8.xx

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp67001-67500/sp67118.exe

Thank you Banhien, I thought it worked after I tried Paul's solution but.... not.

Hi:

See if this works:

Go to the device manager.

Click on the PCI Simple Comms Controller needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp67118.

Make sure that the Include Subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.

You can also try the W8 IMEI driver from your PC's support page.

Driver - HP ENVY h8-1540t CTO Desktop PC | HP® Customer Support

Try the manual install for that version if the auto install method doesn't work.

Updating via the device manager failed. And manually loading the IMEI failed. It wouldn't complete downloading. I tried several times.   Yuck!!

Hi:

I didn't have any problem at all downloading the driver from your PC's support page.

I just clicked on the link.  I don't ever use the download manager option.

Please post the hardware ID for the PCI simple comms controller.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device.

Hopefully, we will sort through this problem.

Problems continue. I'll next look for the I.D.
