Example: Pavilion 27xi

The 27xi power button is a touch button. It will not allow the monitor to turn on, and it doesn't light up. I  have tried to unplug it hold the power button and plugging everything back. It is not working. Would this be a hardware issue or is there another way to fix it

On monitors, there is always a LED somewhere that lights up when the monitor is powered on -- even if the screen is black when connected to a PC.

If this LED is not lit, that means the monitor is DEAD and that is a hardware issue.

Sorry to tell you this, but unless the monitor is BRAND NEW and set you back more than $300, it is not worth the cost of getting it repaired.  I had a $500 Dell go out on me after five years and it was $275 to repair it -- but I replaced it with a new model, better resolution, for only $100.   Monitors come out so frequently, that they're considered "disposal items" nowadays.
