Pavilion 27-n141
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Pavilion All-in-One Desktop (27-n141) will not wake up after it goes to sleep.  I can power computer off and then back on and everything works fine.  But when screen goes off on its own after no activity it will not wake up.  I have checked for upgrades, I have followed troubleshooting guidelines that I found on HP Support site, I have double-checked that keyboard is allowed to wake up computer, etc. etc. but nothing works.  Please help.

Same issue here. Ive tried the troubleshoot. Bios recovery and all but made it worst. Now it wont even boot pass the hp logo screen. F11 brings me to a black page with some details and cant proceed after that

Same with my model 27-N227C. I have checked all relevant settings, updated the graphics driver (AMD Radeon R7 M3

60) and updated the BIOS. Nothing has helped. When I attempt to wake up the machine, the display flashes a couple of times, but it never progresses beyond that point. If I reboot the machine, everything is fine.

Can you configure the computer to never set the computer to "dim" the computer-screen?

Do you have a USB-connected keyboard (or mouse) or are they wireless?

This seems to be an entirely-different problem.  Please create your own posting, so that responses to the original author can be posted here, and responses to your symptoms can be posted onto your posting.

Keyboard and mouse are wireless - Logitech K520.  Problem does not seem to be keyboard or mouse.  Both work fine with every other function.

I have configured the computer to never sleep.   The screen goes blank after 15 minutes of no activity.  This configuration works fine.

But, if I allow computer to sleep, it will not wake from keyboard or mouse.

Try a quick "tap" on the ON/OFF button.

Or, on some computers, there is a BIOS SETUP setting to allow a keyboard interaction to trigger a power-on of the computer.  This setting usually is disabled -- so that a kitten's walk on the keyboard does nothing. :generic:

Hi Keith24

When did this symptom start happening?

Tom-

It started occurring approximately 7-10 days ago.  I have had this set up for over a year with no problems.   I did not manually update anything prior to the problem starting.  And I have made a best effort to determine if any automatic updates may have contributed to the problem.  So far have found nothing.

As noted previously, my temporary solution has been to prevent the computer from ever entering sleep mode.  The screen will shut down, but I can bring it back with just a touch of a button on the keyboard.  The same thing should work with sleep mode, but it does not.

When in sleep mode the small LED power light on the lower right hand corner of the monitor is illuminated.  When I touch a keyboard button, the light blinks indicating that computer is receiving the signal from the keyboard.  Occasionally, the screen will flash with a series of colored curved lines then go black.  After that nothing else happens.

Check the "Power" settings.

After a few minutes of inactivity, Windows will cut the power to the screen, to allow the screen to consume less electrical energy.

When you touch a keyboard button, the light blinks, indicating that computer is restoring the screen to full power.

Another power setting allows Windows to put the entire computer to "sleep" after a longer duration of inactivity.

After the computer goes to sleep, the screen will then go to sleep.

At this point, you need to tap the ON/OFF button to "wake" the computer, and the computer will "wake" the screen.
