How do I take a screenshot using my keyboard as it doesn't have a Print Screen (PrtScn) button?

Hi @Cropster

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Here are clear steps you can follow to capture screenshots on a Windows computer when your keyboard does not have a dedicated Print Screen (PrtScn) button:

Using Keyboard Shortcuts

Windows Key + Shift + S
Press these keys together. The screen will dim, and a small toolbar will appear at the top. You can select from options like rectangular snip, freeform snip, window snip, or full-screen snip. The screenshot is copied to your clipboard, and you can paste it into applications such as Paint or Word.

Alt + Windows Key + S
This combination allows you to capture the active window directly. Again, the image is copied to your clipboard.

Using the Snipping Tool

  1. Press Windows Key + S to open search.
  2. Type Snipping Tool and select it from the results.
  3. Choose the type of snip you want (rectangular, freeform, window, or full-screen).
  4. Once captured, the screenshot opens in the Snipping Tool editor, where you can save or annotate it.

These methods ensure you can take screenshots efficiently even without a Print Screen button.
