HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab126la (ENERGY STAR)

I need to update the BIOS HP PAVILION version F.41-09/19/2016  to a better one, because the software is not available on HP's website.

I have an HP Pavilion 15-ab126la and I need to update the BIOS, as I have an error in Windows Update since I can't install version 2018-05 Windows 10 Update Version 1607 for x64 based systems (KB4132216).

Please help me. I'll be grateful for any real help.

Hi Paul, I appreciate your help, but I couldn't update it. My device isn't compatible with this update. I don't know what to do.

My device:

HP Pavilion 15-ab126la

Actual BIOS: F.41-09/19/2016

You're very welcome.

Your notebook has an AMD processor, correct?

That's the information I could find on it.

If your notebook has an AMD processor and that update didn't work, unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions for you.

I'm grateful for your help Paul. I don't understand what's going on.

Me either.

It should have been the right file for all 15-ab notebooks with the AMD processors.

Hello @Paul_Tikkanen & @Bill_To

I was able to solve the problem, but it resulted in a series of steps that went beyond just installing the HP PAVILION BIOS v. F.54.

This is what I did:

1.a Visit https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

1.b Download The Update Assistant

Error Detected0xc1900209

2. Fix error 0xc1900209

Solution: Run the StartComponentCleanup option through Task Manager. To do this, I have used a tutorial.

Tutorial:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQdflrxKHa4

Error Detected: 0x80070002

2. Fix error 0x80070002

Solution: Run the Windows Update troubleshooter

Tutorial (in spanish):  https://support.microsoft.com/es-es/windows/solucionar-problemas-de-actualizaci%C3%B3n-de-windows-18...

PS: I didn't make a backup because I didn't need it

3. Run the Windows Update troubleshooter to check that there are no errors

4. Update HP PAVILION BIOS version F.54

Link to BIOS v.F.54

Info: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp97001-97500/sp97106.html

Exe: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp97001-97500/sp97106.exe

Thanks to: @Paul_Tikkanen

4. Run the StartComponentCleanup option through Task Manager to check that there are no errors

5. Download and install Windows 10 v. 20H2

Thanks to two good men: @Paul_Tikkanen & @Bill_To
