Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

On 6/27/18 I installed a PC Bios Update: Softpaq# SP1619 Ver: F.67 SZ: 9.06Mb. on my HP AIO computer above.

Since then I've had repeated requests from HP Support Assistant to install this same update. At first I thought it was another Bios Update but then discovered that it's the same one. When I try installing I get the message that it failed.

This has happened at least 4 times since 6/27 even though I've deleted the upgrade from HP Support Assistant.

I tried calling Tech Support by they  were unable to get their software to work. They also informed me that my warranty was expiring on Sept 6 and if I wanted further help I would have to buy another year of warranty for $200.

At this point my only desire is that this recurring problem is resolved. The computer works fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand, you're getting a message from HP Support Assistant,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Have you tried any troubleshooting?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Support Assistant?

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Click Settings at the top of the HP Support Assistant window.
  2. Under "Choose how would you like to be notified" Uncheck the box saying: Display pop-up messages that require Immediate attention.

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you uninstall and reinstall app:

  1. In Windows, search for an open Uninstall a program.

  2. On the Programs and Features window, select HP Support Assistant, then click Uninstall.

  3. Click Yes on the Programs and Features screen to confirm that you want to uninstall HP Support Assistant. Restart your computer to complete the process.

  4. When the uninstall process is complete, open a Web browser and go to the HP Support Assistant website. Follow these steps to download HP Support Assistant:

  5. Click Download HP Support Assistant.

  6. When the download bar is displayed at the bottom of the screen, click Save.

  7. When the download completes, click Run, then follow the on-screen instructions. This might take a few minutes to complete.

  8. When the installation completes, select Yes, then click Finish to restart the system.

  9. When the system restarts, the HP Support Assistant  icon displays on the task bar. Click the icon to open the application.

If HP Support Assistant is working correctly, you are done.

Let me know how this goes,

Cheers!

Flower_Bud,

Got your message last night and went with your step 1 suggestion.

When I checked for messages and updates before I did step 1 there was nothing there.

I will leave it at step 1 and monitor for further problems. Ok for now and thanks for your help.

If I have further issues, I'll get back to you.

Actually I have a completely new problem. This morning when my wife tried logging on all she got was a black screen with the pointed curser which could be moved but nothing else. After about 15 minutes of waiting I decided that nothing was going on and pressed and held the power button on the bottom of the monitor. Normally after a short time the light will go off. Today what I have is a flashing power button. It's been 30-45 min and it's still flashing. Any suggestions.....I have absolutely now way to use it at the moment that why I'm communicatin via my laptop at the moment. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I'll check back later this morning.....suffering through another -20 degree day here in Janesville, Wi
