Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently got a message on my laptop stating that the boot device was missing after my laptop powered off during startup. With an error code 0xc0000225. I made an installation media using an SD card and rufus because whenever I try to use the media creation tool, the window disappears due to my wifi being unstable and because I didnt have a usb with enough space. Rufus told me I had to disable secure boot to use the SD card because it uses "NTFS bootloader" (not sure what that means) so I did so and booted into the recovery. The automatic repair doesn't detect the problem so I tried to use cmd. I tried using chkdsk however it detected something but the problem still wasn't fixed. So I tried using fixboot but whenever I try to use any of the fixboot commands as instructed, I get a cyclic redundancy check error. I've checked the SD on another PC with chkdsk and it doesn't detect problems. What am I doing wrong?

Hi:

I'm thinking you should get your hands on an 8 GB USB flash drive and use rufus to transfer the ISO file to the flash drive so that it is bootable.

It is also possible if you have issues with unstable wifi, that you got a bad download of the ISO file.

You may want to try downloading the ISO file by ethernet cable.

I downloaded the iso elsewhere and brought it back home. Is it the fact that im using a micro SD thats the issue?

Yes, I believe that is the problem.

I have not heard of anyone installing W10 via a SD card.  DVD or USB flash drive only.

If your model has a DVD drive you can burn the ISO file to a DVD so that it is bootable.

You can use the utility that I zipped up and attached below to do that for you...
