My system had V01.22 BIOS.

I was able to FLASH the BIOS using the CMOS setup FLASH BIOS and a CD I created from the SPnnnnn.EXE download for V01.22.

I did the same for V01.26 but then I was unable to FLASH back to V01.22.

There is another later version V01.27 but thar SPnnnnn.EXE does not generate the BIOS folder as the other previous versions do.

My questions are

1) Do you apply BIOS version one version at a time or can one jump to the one required?

2) Once updated can one go BACK as I tried but failed "Warning corrupt file"

3) I am happy with the F10 Flash Bios process but V01.27 does not generate an ISO file. What is the process to create the iso file given I use Linux Mint I don't want to BRICK my system.

4) If I were to BRICK my system is there any recovery path?

Dear Amarnath R

I  have determined that the V01.27 BIOS for the HP DC7900 SFF -- IS A VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE and supersedes all previous versions.

In the end I followed https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03089963#34cbbc48-9ef4-4627-b554-76e24c0cf10a

Using an empty  FAT32 Format USB Drive I copied the 7G1_0127.bin found in the DOS Flash folder - extracted by running sp73584.exe Download using q4wine under Linux. Restart computer and Press F10 Key for Bios  Setup and choose Flash Bios and select the USB where it should find the 7G1_0127.bin file

I have not had an issue updating BIOS so I have not had opportunity to test BIOS recovery on the PC (windows key and B key held down  power on 1-3 seconds)

I now have V01.27 installed all seems well and I note that once a BIOS is successfully installed there is NO WAY BACK other than replacing the CMOS chip or Motherboard.
How do i mark this as SOLVED/
Thank you
Neill
