I currently have two sticks; one 2 and one 4. I want to upgrade to c 16. My question is : can I keep what's already installed and add another matching pair or do I need to remove and replace them with say two 8s?
Thhanks for your advice.

Greetings,
Welcome back to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
The best RAM upgrade approach is to install a compatible memory upgrade kit. So two new 8 GB sticks of compatible memory would provide dual channel speeds.
But you can also add compatible memory.
Make sure you verify the new memory is compatible. HP memory or Crucial memory is the best upgrade path.
Download and run CPU-Z (Link) portable, Zip version to check factory memory module specs before buying new memory.
