Firstly, I know the PC is old. OS is old. Window vista. The screen siezed up last year. We just left it there. We tried to reset to factory setting. It will load windows icon then blank for hours. I can hear the PC is still running all those time. After multiple attempts, I decide to boot from CD. So at one point, I decided to install Windows 8 from CD that I had used for another PC. Of course, I can't reuse that product key. After that I can turn on the PC but can't use the internet etc to activate or install another windows. But the elderly user of that computer prefer to use the old windows version 7 or vista. What can I do to reset to factory setting. I am scare that it will delete Windows 8 too. I don't have any OS CD anymore now. Will it go back to window Vista? Or How to I get back to original windows that came with it when we purchase. Thanks for your time.
