Microsoft Windows 11

Is there anyway I can recover a Microsoft word document I did not save?  I have gone through word to recover unsaved documents, and the original template for my school paper is there, but not the changes I made to it..... my entire paper I wrote on the template.  I have checked the trash bin as well.  I am just wondering if there is a way to go into my operating system and see if it may be there...?  PLEASE HELP!!  That paper took me a week to write.  I now have autosave and one drive on so this will not happen again.

The simple answer is NO -- as neither Word nor Windows provide ways to recovered erased files.

But ... that said ... erased files are not actually deleted, they are only hidden.

The utility I have used that works best to recover these files is GetDataBack from Runtime Software.  I don't know if they have a trial version, but the paid version used to cost $50 USD and was worth every penny.

You will have to install the app and then recover the lost files to a USB stick as you can't write to the same drive where the files were stored.

Good Luck
