Hi:
Unfortunately, no one here can help you get W7 to work if the product key is no good.
The only thing I can think of you could do, but it will cost money, would be to order W7 recovery media from this vendor at the link below, since HP no longer supports your PC in any way.
If you can get your current copy of W7 activated, this reputable 3rd party website has the drivers and software you need for your PC.

THANKS Paul .. Just order it ...
I am grateful for your help.. however I cannot stop to give an 'un-requested advice' to HP: "STOP ! .. You may have made a lot of money, but your customers did not! .. DO NOT FORGET TO KEEP THEM HAPPY. The cost of keeping a Legacy systems site is minimal to nothing. If you want customers to come back, treat them well"

You're very welcome.
I agree with you 100%.
You can go on Dell's support site and get drivers for PC's that are 30 years old if you need to.
Heck, I have several HP business class PC's that are over 10 years old, and the only reason HP still has drivers for them is that they have not reached 15 years of age yet. That's when they get retired from support.
So, I have saved the drivers for those models in anticipation of HP pulling the support plug on those.
