I recently had to resintall Windows 10 on my laptop from a media disk (USB), As a result, I lost all of the HP products that came preinstalled. I have found a few of them, such as Support Assistant. I can't seem to find Recovery Manager anywhere on the HP Web site. Is it still avaialable, or has it been replaced by the Cloud Recovery program. It is NOT among the programs/utilities listed for my laptop on the driver/software page.

@awanalore

The recovery manager is no longer preinstalled on newer HP laptops as the Cloud Recovery process has replaced it.

I've found a few places online that claim to have Recovery Manager available for download. How do I know if it's a genuine version? Is there an HP site that offers it for download?

Hello
as mentioned by @WAWood  this program may not have been present originally ..
If this were the case, reinstalling the program from any site, not to mention the risk, may not help.
It doesn't work on its own, and you must have the recovery partition working
install windows 10 otherwise, can destroy it all
The software is obviously not available from the product page, so using a program from another computer will probably not work either!
as shown if you want to do a factory recovery , see if compatible:

To answer your question -- you don't (know if it is genuine) so you are putting the PC at risk downloading and installing stuff like this.

If your goal is to create Recovery Media, then read the information below to use what I, and lots of other folks, already use:

------------------------

I personally prefer to use third-party Backup solutions as they tend to be both more flexible and more reliable than any built-in solutions.

Macrium Reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or entire drives.

What I recommend is the following:
1) Download and install Macrium Reflect (MR) from here: http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx
2) Run MR and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition(s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB stick
3) Use the option to create a boot USB stick or CD

My experience is that MR, when using the High Compression option, typically can compress the saved image file to about 60% of the USED space in the OS partition. This means if you have an 80GB OS partition, and 40GB is used, MR only needs about 24GB to store the image file.

I use this all the time and it typically takes less than 15 minutes to do the image backup and about the same time or less to do a restore.

Plus, MR has the option to Add a Recovery Boot Menu entry. This allows you then to boot into WinRE, and you can then use that to do a restore -- when you can't boot into Windows!

NOW, you have the means to restore a full working system from the external drive or USB stick in only a few minutes.

Thank you all! My goal: I read that recovery manager has a feature that reinstalls the HP software that came with your computer. That's what is I want to do. I have found Support Assistant and Cloud Recovery and downloaded those.  It seems like I am missing a few other things, though.

Hello
you may not have understood correctly
no need to download hp support assistant and other software, if you are using hp cloud recovery
the latter, must be used in order to reinstall the computer
