So, I try to create a Recovery USB flash drive for the HP T730 Thin Client. But I am unable to do so. The file that was downloaded does not seem to be executed properly.
I mean I downloaded the bios update file from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-t730-thin-client/8604909
And try to create a recovery USB drive for updating the bios from the computer setup (F10). However the executable file "L43_0116.exe" does not start correctly.
Tried it on several Windows machines (including an HP one), but still no luck (Windows 10 and 11 machines). Tried to run it as an administrator and in different compatibility modes, but no luck.
I do see it appearing in the task manager as a running process for some while, but the GUI is not shown, and as such I can't create the recovery USB drive.
Did anybody encounter the same issues? Are there any suggestions on how to solve this issue?

I've seen it before when, if you launch the exe file, it extracts files, but then nothing happens.
I don't know what the fix is for that.
The only other thing I can think of, is to install the HP support assistant (HPSA) and see if it installs the updated BIOS, or run Windows update, and check the advanced/optional updates and see if the BIOS is there.
The HP UEFI diags (F2 at POST) *used* to allow you to update the bios from there too, but I don't think that option is there anymore.
