Hi, I am giving my desktop computer (which came with Windows 7 Home Premium but I did the free upgrade to Windows 10) to my son. I decided to reset it for him using the option in Setting/Update & Security/Recovery. Everything seemed to work OK, however, my computer is now at the Windows set up screen (see Picture), but my mouse and keyboard are not responding? I have tried unplugging them, tried different mouses and keyboards, and also unplugging the computer, but still no response. If I go to the Bios screen the mouse and keyboard respond just fine. I have also followed the instructions to Use installation media to reinstall Windows 10, but again my keyboard and mouse won't respond on the set up screen. I posted about my issue on the Microsoft community website, but after going round and round in circles and getting nowhere, I was told I should contact my computer manufacturer. Any help/suggestions would be hugely appreciated!

There are some newer motherboards that only have "newer" ('USB 3.0') ports for keyboard & mouse.
Be sure to connect your keyboard/mouse to "USB 2.0" ports on your computer.
Or, see: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
to download, for free, the latest version (April 2017) version of Windows 10.
Since your computer was running Windows 10, you have a "digital entitlement" to reinstall Windows 10, at no cost.
When installing Windows, and being prompted to enter a 25-character product-key, click "I do not have one".
When your computer connects to the Internet, it will leverage that entitlement, and automatically activate.
Hopefully, that "newest" version will contain support for the "USB 3.0" ports on your motherboard.

Thanks for your response.
Yes the keyboard and mouse are being connected to USB 2.0 ports.
And I have tried to reinstalll Windows 10, but I can't enter any of the info on the setup screen becuase the keyboard and mouse aren't recognized!!!!
In Bios, the keyboard and mouse work just fine.

Exactly the same symptoms (keyboard/mouse work during BIOS SETUP, but Windows does not load the correct device-drivers).
Your problem is a commonly-asked-question on this forum.
