Hi @Bentcorp

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I acknowledge the issue that the reset for your PC is failing. Thank you for sharing this detail—it helps us focus on the right direction. Could you confirm the exact HP product model and the operating system version currently installed? Also, please let me know if you attempted the reset through Windows Settings, HP Recovery Environment, or another method. This information will help us identify the most suitable steps.

Here are some recommended steps to perform a reset when the standard option fails:

Access HP Recovery Environment

  • Restart the PC and press F11 repeatedly as soon as the HP logo appears.
  • This opens the HP Recovery Manager.

Choose Reset Option

  • Select Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.
  • You can choose to keep files or remove everything depending on your requirement.

Use HP Cloud Recovery Tool (if F11 does not work)

  • On another PC, download the HP Cloud Recovery Tool from HP’s official support page:
    HP Cloud Recovery Tool
  • Create recovery media (USB).
  • Boot your PC from this USB and follow the on‑screen instructions to reset.

Verify BIOS Settings

  • Restart and press F10 to enter BIOS.
  • Ensure boot mode is set correctly (UEFI or Legacy depending on your system).
  • Save changes and retry the recovery.

These steps are designed to restore the system to factory defaults using HP’s official tools. Could you share whether the reset attempt was through Windows Settings or HP Recovery so we can refine the guidance further?

Take care, and have an amazing day!
