Resetting Windows 10 on new HP PC

I was looking for guidance to reset the operaring system on my new HP all in one, but 3 different technicians could not tell me what to do and if there was a special procedure for HP installed os.  They directed me to the website.  When i asked for some relvant links, i was put on hold until I hung up.

The Carbonite restore of my user files made  a mess of my Users directory. I was told to just copy the old Users directory tree with the userName from my old pc to the user directory tree on the new PC.  All that did was create a second directory the same name.copy.

i don’t know if resetting the pc changed any warranty and/ or connections to HP account.

your tech support is atrocious.  I can’t believe you still use help desk services from India.  Thy never answer the actual question.  What they do is ask endless qualifying questions until the customer just gives up.

i think when the reset is complete and any personal information has been wiped from the system i think I should return the system.   I don’t hav any faith in HP and your tech support.

There is a "hidden" partition on the disk-drive, called the "System Recovery" partition.

Power-up your computer, and immediately start tapping the ESC key, until you see a menu.

Selecting from that menu should use that partition to completely reset the PC to the factory-installed operating system.

Or, if Windows is running, there is a "Reset my PC" app, which accesses the files on that same partition.

Within that app, there is an option to either "keep" or "delete" all your personal files.

Backup your personal files, before you try any "reset", if you are going to keep using the computer.
