my power supply went on/off three times in quick succession, I have a Belkin Power Surge in place.
When the power finally settled back on my screen was black and the HDD just kept going " ker click, ker click, etc etc. No beeps or anything else.
The computer man could not get anything to show even with new HDD. The old HDD still spins.. while "ker clicking"..
All systems have power, the fan, the USB ports, the disc writer reader all are ok.
Any secret switches ???

thanks Jay..
the computer tech suggested it might be the motherboard after he had tested the HDD and found it completly no good and no matter what he did still nothing worked,
So... I purchased a HP 27 Envy Recliner to replace the 27 Omni.
Trouble is the Envy has no DVD disc drive..
so.. I have taken the one out of the Omni and put it in a Slim Data to USB kit and that fixed that,
The 16gig of ram fitted in place of the installed 4 gig in my laptop, this though made no difference.
Looking for uses for the rest of the expensive bits... 🙂

Greetings,
It appears the power disruption may have caused additional damage to the {(MB) motherboard (integrated graphics)} or the graphics card located in the PCI Express MXM slot. Other MB damage not directly related to video output is also possible. The external power supply (PS) could be compromised. Try a spare PS if you have one.
You will probably have to have a tech examine the motherboard.
I am not aware of a secret switch other than resetting BIOS to defaults (you need video), resetting CMOS using jumper pins, or pulling the internal MB, usually a CR2032, battery.
You have no video so you have to get to the motherboard to try the last two procedures described above.
Cheers!
