Usually when I am typing, but sometimes when I am just reading my home page (Yahoo or Google) my screen size keeps fading out from 100% to 30%. Sometimes I can get it back up by Ctrl + or going to the upper right corner and pressing + untill it reaches 90 or 100%. Sometimes it won't even let me do that. The toolbar top and bottom are fine, just the rest of the screen.

OK, less than 12 hours before taking it to Geek Sqyuad who said it was a HDD. Seagate's test programs said the HDDs were fine. But then Klassen's question about keyboard and palm? Got me to thinking. I tested pressing on all sorts of keys along the palm area and nothing seemed to make any difference. The keyboard was (past tense) a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 7000 wireless. Just for S&Gs I took out an old Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 WIRED keyboard and put it online. Answered some 12 e-mails, read several online news stories and no problems. Since the 7000 was still hooked up, but resting on two other monitors, I pulled it down and started typing.... Yup, the screen went from 100% to 30% in about four keystokes. Put it back on the two monitors and used the wired one again for a half hour with no problems at all.
Finding? 7000 wireless by Microsoft. Thank you all for the help.

Hello, @Dandur – Hope you are well 🙂
Thank you for your continued participation in HP Support Forums. I would like to help you with the issue 🙂
Going through your post, it looks like an issue with the browser that you are using. I see that you have not mentioned the browser that you are using. Hence, try using a different browser than what you are using and then check.
I would suggest you try using a different browser to browse and print. Try Google chrome and let me know how that goes. If you are already “Chrome”, then try resetting the browser. Try the steps below:
- At the top right, click More (Three horizontal dots) and then Settings.
- At the bottom, click Show advanced settings.
- Under the section "Reset settings,” click Reset settings.
- In the box that appears, click Reset.
Also, if you are using Internet explorer, try resetting the same. Press the “Windows key” + “R” to get the “Run” window. Type “inetcpl.cpl” and press ok to get the internet explorer properties. Go to “Advanced” tab and select “Reset” option to completely reset the internet explorer. Now open the internet explorer and try browsing.
Those steps should do the trick, let me know the outcome. Thank you!
Cheers 🙂

Is there anything "special" about your keyboard or your mouse?
Some keyboards have extra keys, e.g., to control the speaker-volume, or to "zoom" the web-browser's window.
Hopefully, you don't have a "dying" keyboard that sends "random" characters to the computer.
Similarly, does your mouse have more than two buttons, e.g., a scroll-wheel between the two primary buttons, or some "side" buttons?
Note that "CTRL-and-ZERO" will reset the web-browser to 100% magnification.

@ Dvortex.... Took a long time to accomplish the steps you reference...Especially since I only use IE when I am having problems with Firefox or Google. Same with Chrome. I do not like either. However, I did follow your instructions for each and no, it made no difference. It is not just when I am typing, but also when I am just viewing/reading the page.
Must be something else. I ran a HDD Bios and window test on the Seagate HDDs (2, one a 1TB and one a 500GB), using the Seagate testing programs. Both showed the HDDs to be in good working order. Yes, the long and short tests.
Below, someone posted a reply that asks about the Keyboard and mouse.....Yes, to both. I use the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 v1...and a wireless Logitech mouse.

@mdklassen....Interesting. Never thought about those. I guess I could change the keyboard out to a previous one that worked before I boxed it up....and/or use the new flat keyboard that came with a computer that was never used (no bells or whistles). Will test that theory out later today.

Sorry . I did not mean to cut you off (my text should bear that), but I just clicked on things to get me posted and off. I realized after I clicked that your ACCEPT button was gone, but did not know how to recind what I had done. If there is a way, please advise....as I was trying to post a final solution and that you were the correct answerer..... Not to say that Dv was not close.... and that your HINT was not correct. If you are mad, I am sorry....but I did what I did...not out of self preservation, but to let the people that may come to this site know what the answer was.
