Hi I have a question about how do I go about sending in my out-of-warranty desktop to be repaired. It needs a new touchscreen and operating system as well

HP Support does not typically accept out-of-warranty hardware repair requests.

HP is not a general repair house.

Find a local repair shop in your region and ask about the specifics (costs, parts, shipping, warranty / guarantee for the repairs and the process).

Remember:  Reputable technicians do not hide information and will perhaps provide a written contract.

In GENERAL,

  • Expect that your data should either have been removed or considered already lost.
  • Expect that you may have to pay for shipping - and you will be responsible for packing, too.  Make sure you use a reputable shipper and consider paying for insurance in the event that the contents are further damaged.
  • Expect that you are responsible for asking relevant questions about the process.  "He didn't tell me" won't help later.  Make a list.
