When running my HP diagnostics, my Short Drive Self-Test Failed. I received the error code 90BQH0-0009H6-WPTXHA-60QL13. My warranty has expired. Can anyone advise on how to fix this problem? Thank you.

S.M.A.R.T = Short? (sure short and long test sure) but is smart failing at least. Any HDD test that fails is bad HDD.
even if bios test of hdd shows its bad, it is bad, (I run Linux boot disk or run crystaldiskinfo (free)
any time smart test fails, the HDD is bad.
no if's and's or but's.
bad. (like bucket with holes in it)
and cloning it is not good idea ever. (after all it has currupted data)
the steps are,
1: back up data, not backed now. ask, or learn how to get to data on bad drives, (a long and complex topic)
2: then buy new and bigger HDD, or even better a new SSD.
if crystaldiskinfo shows parameter C6 above zero the HDD is bad. the below is bad HDD, clearly.
as seen here. C6, Im not sure if I can post a simple image like this but here goes..... its just jpp

3: load your OS fresh now, ( windows media kits)
4: restore any data or applications lost.

I am not computer literate. I have had a problem with my SMART test for over four years. Still, my computer works. Basically are you saying I need a new modum and that I need to replace my Compaq Presario? It has been working with this error for a really long time.
