I have a 5 months old HP24-ca0016na All In One Desktop PC, 24in FHD, AMD Ryzen 7 5700U with Radeon Graphics 1.80 GHz, 32GB RAM, 512GB SSD of which 329GB is free. I am running McAfee All in one protection. In the last few weeks my PC has become so slow online it is almost unusable. If I have more than 2 open pages online the fan speeds up as if it is under terrible load and everything freezes or is so slow that it takes 10 to 30 seconds to refresh a page. I have cleared all caches, browsing history, temporary files etc scanned multiple times with McAfee and used the HP optimiser several times but it just keeps getting worse. This replaced a 6 year old Lenovo Z51, which is now running rings around the HP online using the same wi-fi. I use this primarily for work but that is mainly just emails and web browsing not gaming or any intense CPU activity. Can anyone tell me how to rectify this as right now I am considering getting rid of the HP and going back to my old Laptop.

Thanks Paul, I checked and I did have the HP Analytics program installed (sneaky buggers) and I have now disabled it. I now need to see if performance picks up so will give it test and let you know. Thanks again for your knowledgeable input.

I am sorry to say that even after following Paul's advice my online experience with this PC is once again pitiful. If I have more than 2 or 3 web pages open at a time the fan starts up like a jet engine and functionality slows to a snails pace. Even trying to write this is stalling the PC. I have again run McAfee several times and cleared my caches and browsing history for all time and this is still so painful to use. I tend to use Google Chrome but have disabled most of the extensions. I only normally have at most 4 web pages open at the same time and these would tend to be email and ebay or similar so I cannot understand why my PC has a stroke when I do so. If anyone has any ideas other than my current one which involves a large hammer, they would be appreciated, thank you.
