OK, here is your problem...
I can tell that you installed a video card with an HDMI port because you wrote that you only have a nVidia HD audio device listed there. The nvidia HD audio controls the audio out of the HDMI port on the video card.
Here's what happened, and here's what you need to do to correct the problem...
When you installed the nvidia video card with HDMI, the PC not only disabled the onboard video, it also disabled the onboard audio thinking that you also installed an audio card.
So, to get the onboard audio working again, restart the PC, tap the F10 key to get into the BIOS setup menu.
Go over to the advanced settings tab>device options menu.
Find the onboard audio setting. It will be set to disabled.
Change the setting to enabled. Save the setting there and again when you exit the BIOS.
Upon restart and into Windows, you should have the onboard sound working again.
Then try installing the W7 soundmax audio driver again.
You need this driver for the PCI serial port...
This package contains the Intel Local Management Service (LMS) and Serial-over-LAN (SOL) support for Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) for the supported desktop models and operating systems. This software is part of the Intel Digital Office Initiative.

Hi:
I used the W7 x64 Soundmax drivers on my dc7800 and dc7900 PC's from the support pages.
The driver worked fine on the latest W10 Creators edition update.
After you install the driver you may also have to to to the windows control panel>hardware and sound>sound> manage audio devices and make sure the PC speakers are set to as the default.

That interesting that the driver didn't work for you and it worked fine for me on both of my PC's.
Try manually installing the audio driver as follows...
Go to the device manager and click to expand the sound video and game controllers device manager category.
You should be seeing an HD audio device listed there.
Click on that device. Click on the driver tab. Click on Update driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the soundmax driver folder that was created when you ran the file.
That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp45615.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.
Then restart the PC.
I sure hope the W7 driver works for me again if I have to reinstall W10!

I have only a nvidia hd audio and i tried to install it that way but it said that the driver is up to date.
On the device manager i saw that there was a triangle like a warning on my PCI serial port driver and this is what it says:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.
I tried to install drivers for that with update the driver but it doesnt work.

> On the device manager i saw that there was a triangle like a warning on my PCI serial port driver ...
That is a missing device-driver for some other hardware -- not your audio hardware.
Does your computer have exactly 4 GB of RAM? I have seen one HP computer where the sound was working correctly until I upgraded the RAM to 4 GB. Then, no sound could be heard.

This is the important point -- not to be overlooked.
As Paul stated, the HDMI output carries both the VIDEO and the AUDIO output, unless you tell Windows to route the AUDIO output to your computer's speakers, leaving only the VIDEO output going to the device with HDMI-input.
