Hi @Zayd_123678,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Cloud Recovery Tool is stuck at 98% while trying to create a recovery USB, you might try the following steps.

  • Check the USB Drive: Ensure that the USB drive is functioning properly and has enough space. Sometimes, a faulty or incompatible USB drive can cause issues. Try using a different USB drive if possible.
  • Restart the Process: Cancel the current recovery process and restart it. Sometimes, simply restarting the process can resolve the issue.
  • Update HP Cloud Recovery Tool: Ensure that you are using the latest version of the HP Cloud Recovery Tool. You can download the latest version from HP’s official website.
  • Check Internet Connection: A stable internet connection is required for the recovery tool to download the necessary files. Make sure your internet connection is stable and try restarting your router.
  • Try a Different Computer: If possible, try running the HP Cloud Recovery Tool on a different computer to see if the issue persists.
  • Run as Administrator: Ensure that you are running the HP Cloud Recovery Tool as an administrator. Right-click on the tool’s icon and select “Run as administrator.”
  • Clear Temporary Files: Sometimes, temporary files can cause issues. Try clearing the temporary files on your computer.
  • Disable Antivirus/Firewall: Temporarily disable any antivirus or firewall software that might be interfering with the recovery process.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
