I’m at the ‘choose keyboard layout’ during the restart phase of a reset on my computer.  I can’t enter my choice because the mouse and keyboard aren’t responding.  How can I fix this problem?

@Gramtothree -- which "Installer" are you trying to use:

  1. a "generic" Windows 10 Installer, downloaded from Microsoft
  2. a genuine HP DVD
  3. the "System Recovery" partition on your disk-drive (assuming that you have not deleted that partition)

Does your computer have both "USB 2" and "USB 3 SuperSpeed" sockets? Are you connecting your keyboard & mouse to the "USB 2" ports?

 

Do your keyboard and mouse work when connected into a USB port on a different computer?

 

Can you borrow a keyboard and mouse, and try connecting them to your computer?
