There is an article stating how to recover two of my HP desktops but there is no way to get to the files or contact someone.

Please provide the Product ID or Model name for better assistance. Preferably the full product ID including the characters after the # symbol.

This article states I need SP149367 but I can't find any way to get to it.  When I can get to a generic driver page for the model the only option is SP149942 which I tried with no luck.

You are in luck.  26v53ut seems to be Elitedesk 800 G6 SFF

Your parts list:  https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/?searchtext=26V53UT

probably the same one that you can get by entering your serial number

The 800 G6 SFF product is described here and the software you want is there also, both windows 10 and 11

Select software and either 10 or 11.  sp149942 was released Dec 5, just a few days ago.

sp149367 was released  Sep 24, 2023

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp149001-149500/sp149367.exe

If you installed the Dec 5 BIOS I suspect you cannot go back to Sep 24 although that warning is not included

The Dec 5th bios fixed the following

- Fixes issue where Power-On Authentication with fingerprint would not function.
- Fixes issue where FUR GUI would report "Incorrect password was entered" when flashing BIOS with correct password after setting EBAM and BIOS admin password. - Enhancement to address security vulnerabilities CVE-2023-25756, CVE-2023-22329
- Enhancement to support SMBIOS type1 version string for 'db' addition.
- Enhancements to secure boot keys protection.
- HP strongly recommends updating system BIOS to address a potential issue with HP Sure Start that can cause some devices to experience a SecureBoot error at boot.

- Includes the following firmware:
Intel GOP, version 9.0.1113
Intel Management Engine Corporate, version 14.1.70.2228
Intel/Realtek UEFI PXE ROM EFI, version 0.0.24
Super IO Firmware, version 9.8.23
USB Type-C Power Delivery (PD) Firmware, version 5.9.0

What problem are you trying to solve?

What happened when you installed the Dec 5 BIOS?

Before installing any BIOS you should press ESC and run diagnostics to verify memory and disk are all OK.

I believe I read the article wrong, hoping it would recovery an already affected unit. I have contacted support directly since all of this and am waiting for an on-site technician who I assume is going to replace the motherboard, still waiting to hear from them.

if nothing else, hopefully this thread helps anyone in the same situation. Thank you for your response.
