Desktop 22-a150qe no longer wakes from sleep mode since 11/14/2017. All Windows 10 updates and HP updates installed. Worked correctly before.

Hi @Mariner304,
Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips!
As I understand the system isn't waking up from sleep mode,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
Did you install any recent Windows or Bios updates that could have caused this issue?
When was the last time it worked without these issues?
Did you perform a system restore to an earlier working date?
While you respond to that, Please follow the below steps to resolve your concern:
Step 1: Enabling the Keyboard in Windows
Skip this step if the computer does not enter sleep mode or if the computer wakes unexpectedly.
Follow these steps to enable your keyboard to wake your computer from sleep mode:
-
In Windows, search for and open the Device Manager.
-
Click the arrow next to Keyboards and double-click the name of your keyboard.
-
If the Power Management tab is available, proceed to the next step.
If the Power Management tab is not available, click the Change Settings button if it appears below the Device status box. The same Keyboard Properties window opens with the Power Management tab available.
If you are prompted for an Administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
-
Click the Power Management tab and make sure that the box next to Allow this device to wake the computer is checked.
-
Click OK, and then test to make sure that the keyboard can now wake the computer. If the computer still cannot wake from sleep mode, continue using these steps.
-
For instructions on how to update the BIOS of your computer, see one of the following HP support documents: Updating the Bios(Desktop)
For more steps, please Click here
Let me know if those steps worked for you,
If they did, that's awesome!
Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck

I followed all directions - ensured keyboard set to wake, updated BIOS, checked for W 10 updates and checked for HP updates. Computer will still not wake from sleep mode. I tworked fine prior to last W10 update.

Greetings @Mariner304, I am the @Chimney_83. It looks like you were interacting with @Jeet_singh, but he is out of the office today so I'll take over from here.
Thanks for the reply and trying the suggested steps.
Right-click on the Windows button and open device manager.
Expand Display adapters.
Right-click on the Intel display adapter and uninstall it.
Once uninstalled, install the driver from this link.
This should resolve the issue you are facing.
Let me know if this helped.

OK. I downloaded the driver using CHROME. As I understand it, this was essentially a driver rollback? Did the "latest" version of the driver come through a Windows 10 update or an HP update? What is to prevent the next update from causing the same problem?
Thanks for your help.

I was having the exact same issue with my all in one and posted a question about it yesterday. The solution sort of worked for me. It will now wake from sleep mode, but I received an error message that my machine didn't meet minimum requirements after trying to install the soft pack. Also when I look in Device Manager now, Display Adapters isn't listed. Not sure if this will cause any problems, but hey, it's at least waking up now.

Thanks for the reply @Mariner304,
Glad the issue is resolved, not sure what could have caused that issue.
Please do post your technical queries on our Forums for assistance.

Greetings @ToddC1,
Thanks for the post.
I understand that you followed the suggested procedure and the display adapter is no longer listed, is that right?
Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.
I am glad that your computer is waking from sleep, but if the display adapter is not listed you might not be able to change the resolution of your computer and loose other video capabilities.
Did you restart your computer and check if the display adapter is listed or not.
If it is not listed, run HP Support Assistant and check for updates.
Keep me posted.
