We have fair few HP T530 running on thinpro 7.1
We are having problems with smartcard readers , and was looking into the possibility of upgrading to windows 10 with out having to replace the hardware.
Fully understand there would be an OS cost into doing this.
I know one know if this is possible. ?

What sort of problems? Details? Error-messages?
You can purchase a Windows 10 product-key through the "Windows Store" app, on any computer running Windows 10.
Then,: Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
to get the "Windows Installer".
As to whether your hardware will support Windows 10, I just do not know. You'll have to give it a try on one computer.
Hint: remove the existing disk-drive, and temporarily install an empty "spare" disk-drive, and try to install to it.
If it does not go well, remove that disk-drive, and reconnect the original disk-drive.
