Suddenly my laptop audio and touchscreen isn't working. It's a 24h2 so the suggested automatic updates and installations aren't supported. Someone suggested reinstalling the drivers which I've tried and it didn't work. Connecting my headphones works so I think it's a problem with the Realtek audio driver. Though when I test it the colourful bar shows up yet there is still no sound coming out.
Plus, when I uninstalled HID compliant touchscreen, I resetted my laptop and it doesn't show up anymore so I dont know where to download. Preferably I need to fix my touchscreen asap.

@Suonye, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
Let's tackle both the touchscreen and audio issues you're facing on your HP laptop running Windows 11 24H2.
Audio Issue – Realtek Driver Troubleshooting
Since your headphones work but the built-in speakers don’t, and the Realtek driver seems involved, follow these steps:
Update Realtek Audio Driver: HP has released an updated Realtek HD Audio driver (v6.0.9700.1) specifically for Windows 11 24H2.
Run HP Audio Check Tool: Use HP’s automated diagnostic tool to identify and fix sound issues:
Fix Sound Issues | HP® Support
Check Default Playback Device:
- Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar → Sound settings.
- Under Output, ensure Speakers (Realtek) is selected as the default device.
Test with HP PC Hardware Diagnostics:
- Download and run - HP PC Hardware Diagnostics | HP® Support
- Use the audio test to verify speaker functionality.
Touchscreen Issue – HID-Compliant Driver Missing
If the HID-compliant touchscreen driver disappeared after uninstalling and rebooting, try the following:
Scan for Hardware Changes:
- Open Device Manager → Click Action → Select Scan for hardware changes.
- This may reinstall the missing touchscreen driver automatically.
Enable Hidden Devices:
- In Device Manager, click View → Select Show hidden devices.
- Check if the touchscreen driver is listed under Human Interface Devices.
Install HP Drivers Manually:
- Visit the HP Drivers page: Official HP® Support
- Enter your laptop model and download the latest Chipset and Input drivers.
Use HP Support Assistant:
- Download HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
- It can automatically detect missing drivers and install them.
If issues persist, consider performing a System Restore to a point before the problems started.
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
