Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

USB keyboard and mouse hanging during installation of Windows 7 on  HP PAVILION DESKTOP - 550-107UR

Tried with FAT 32/NTFS formatted USB drive and DVD media

 

Also disbaled secure boot and enabled legacy boot

 

Please help

was designed for Windows 10, not Windows 7. 

 

Also, what are you going to do on/before January 2020 (only 2.5 years away) when Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 7?  At that time, you'll need to "revert" to the factory-installed Windows 10.  So, make a good backup of the current system, to reduce your pain when you install Windows 10.

Intel removed USB 2.0 chipset support from the Skylake chipset, therefore normal DVD and USB Windows 7 installs will not work on 6th generation Intel chipsets. You have to add the USB 3.0 drivers into the Windows 7 ISO using this Intel utility: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25476/Wi​​​ndows-7-USB-3-0-Creator-Utility

 

After running this utility and directing it to your Windows 7 ISO, you should be able to install Windows  ...
