My Envy 27 won’t start. The error message says BAD SYSTEM CONFIG INFO; auto repair doesn’t work, nor do various auto repair options. Help!

Hi,
Sounds like Windows registry corruption.
Try Safe mode (Link). Note, Windows may not boot to safe mode if the registry is really corrupted. Refer to this (Link) on using safe mode. Try running the following commands in safe mode in addition to trying a system restore point:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
sfc /scannow
Follow steps at this site (Link) which requires using a system restore point if you cannot enter safe mode.
You may have to reset the PC if you cannot recover using the second link. So, you may have to remove the HDD, connect to a different PC using internal SATA connections or an external SATA to USB adapter to back up data before resetting the PC.
