HP ENVY Phoenix h9-1330ea Desktop PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good Morning

I'm looking to move now from my current desktop HP ENVY Phoenix h9-1330ea Desktop PC to this one here https://www.hp.com/gb-en/shop/product.aspx?id=447C2EA&opt=ABU&sel=DTP

Mainly due to the stupidly high cost of gfx cards at the moment. Which has led me to look for a full system.

Storage wise im good with two ssds in the current setup. However i want to find out more info about this system in regard to the upgradability. Im looking to put in a NVME drive 1tb into this and also potentially room for two ssds and also maybe two sshds.

I've looked at the attached pdf on that webpage however no joy.

Hi

check your link!

https://www.hp.com/gb-en/shop/product.aspx?id=447C2EA&opt=ABU&sel=DTP

is it this one?

OMEN 25L GT12-1006na Desktop PC Product Specifications

we will not be able to tell you everything that is possible, because for some it is necessary to open the computer, (cables, location available etc.)
You can also seek advice from the hp store

Oasis motherboard specifications.

Two M.2 socket 3, key M (one for SSD card PCIe x4 Gen 3)

this may help :

Re: Number SSD m2 in Omen 25L gt12-1002nf - HP Support Community - 8220489

be careful because for some elements, although supposed to be scalable, you may have difficulties
replacement of the graphics card for example later, insufficient power supply
Upgrading memory can be tricky, some modules won't run at normal frequency if  not compatible !

HI Many thanks for the response @promethee

I checked the link and it loads upin the UK, are you based uk too?

Ah thats a shame that this information cannot be sourced easily - i think that might put me off to be honest as i cant have any doubt.

Not being able to know what you can upgrade is a downer - especially when trying to find this information out.

I appreciate the helpfull links you have dropped!

No, sorry, see my Pseudonym, we are just neighbors

Sometimes I just try to give the documents that correspond to the country
but as it is the US site, here, I most often give the US links

You have the main information with , all the links given .. Unfortunately hp does not provide the necessary documents for everything

Ah no worries, nevertheless i appreciate it!

So after looking and the concerning reports i've read about the Omen series underpowered power supply wise im a little put off.

So really, on my existing desktop above i want to ideally upgrade the motherboard/cpu/gfx/memory...

Would this fit into the pc?  https://www.ebuyer.com/912620-zotac-geforce-gtx-1660-super-6gb-twin-fan-graphics-card-zt-t16620f-10l

hi

https://support.hp.com/ph-en/document/c03542305

this one then?
I haven't looked, but probably
If you have the graphic card dimensions see this @old_geekster  KB

Upgrade Video Card

I have the same type of computer, originally with this model Radeon HD 7950 (3 GB)

the characteristics page, no longer available
but I had been able to try this graphics card:

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (8 GB)

  • Form Factor: ATX (full height) PCB with ATX dual slot bracket
  • Dimensions: 11.2 cm x 26.7 cm (4.4 x 10.5 in)

Total power consumption: 150 W

External power cable: One 2x4 (8 pin)

A more or less large graphic crate should therefore pass, but check
see for required connectors

bios version 8.xx was required, I think that's good for you?

"" i want to ideally upgrade the motherboard ""

No, you might have more to worry about than anything else.
it would be better to buy a pc tower, for that in order to be able to install what you want

Apologies for the late reply - that is indeed the right one i have currently.

Do you think that this would be able to use straight out of the box without any upgrades?

Sorry, I reread several times, because I mix everything up, since you mentioned two models
So, for this one, is it correct?

https://support.hp.com/ph-en/document/c03542305

Internal 600 Watt (100V-240V)

  • Recommended Power Supply
    500W
  • Power Consumption
    184W
  • Power Input
    8-pin

209.6mm x 119.3mm x 41mm (8.3in x 4.7in x 1.61in)

I can't guarantee it will work
power supply would be enough
check if the 8 pin is available, i think , but check
and the size, if there is space , then you have all the chances on your side, but again, difficult to certify that it will be 100% compatible
