On the download page, it lists three BIOS updates consisting of different ROM Family IDs. If it fails to install, try THIS PAGE and click on "Check NOW" to see which one that page indicates is the correct BIOS update

I've tried to extract A.05 ROM Family SSID 2B35 and it always runs with an error message:
"OR2_A005 error to create file"
"BID sign can not find Rom files".
Could you please email me your downloaded file?
Thanks.

@HPUEFI Here is the SUPPORT PAGE for the HP Pavilion Desktop - 500-549. When scrolling down to the BIOS updates, there are two. One marked - HP Consumer Desktop PC BIOS Update (ROM Family SSID 2B2C)
and another marked - HP Consumer Desktop PC BIOS Update (ROM Family SSID 2B35)
Check for which version is needed for your PC by looking at the BIOS that is installed at present. Somewhere on the BIOS pages, once the BIOS has been opened, it will identify which one is installed. The correct ROM family - either (ROM Family SSID 2B2C) or (ROM Family SSID 2B2C) must match for the update to install.

Thanks for your reply.
I used exactly same link for 500-549 and tried to install A0.07 firmware as an update for 80.02.
same (ROM Family SSID 2B35)
Since i was doing it from Qindows10 i know for sure that 80.02 was installed initially, and the application for A0.07 did not complain about bios being "wrong for his system".
Everything went well, but at some point during an update it switched to "BIOS recovery" loop.
I have updated BIOS on so many PCs / Notebooks in the past using external media and from within Windows. I have never seen anything like that. Every time - BIOS recover and 8 beeps. It is interesting to note that it say NIOS recovery complete... Then again goes into BIOS recovery.
MB does not have "ROM recovery" pins. I've tried to remove CMOS battery, clear CMOS, etc. Same result.
Not able to use Esc, F2, F10 to get to BIOS / UEFI. Tried to put the original BIOS on HP_tool USB - it does not get recognized - recovery fails. When i put A0.07 - recovery goes through entire cycle, and instead of booting to Windows - 8 beeps and recovery cycle again.

Sorry, I do not have any good ideas. Perhaps another has some insight on a failed BIOS update.

Thanks. I called customer support - they logged the case, transferred me to another agen, and disconnected...
Not happy. I have upgraded 100s of PCs and HP-UX servers when i WORKED for HP. This was a long time ago, but i do know how to upgrade BIOS. This is definitelly an issue with BIOS Rev and MB.

I agree. The only way I know of to remedy this is to remove the BIOS chip and install a new one. Other than that replace the motherboard.
