Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Can I upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 on my HP Envy all in one 23-k310na device or do I have to purchase a new device to upgade to Windows 11?

Hi:

Your PC does not meet the W11 processor requirements established by Microsoft to directly upgrade to W11.

 

To upgrade from W8.1>W10, if you have another PC running W10, make a bootable USB installation flash drive with the Media creation tool from the link below.

 

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

 

After the USB installation media has been created, plug it into your PC's USB port.

 

Do not boot from it.

 

Open the flash drive in Windows Explorer and double click on the Setup application file you see listed when you open the flash drive, to begin the upgrade process to W10.

 

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from the support page.

If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2.

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.
