Hello,
My desktop (still pretty new) is still under warrantee.
It needs software repair or upgrade.
I can't do this myself.
If I take the unit into a local shop here and I pay them to do it, which I will gladly do, will my warrantee still remain valid?
I don't want to invalidate my existing warrantee which I paid for and subscribed to.
I was unable to find the answer to this question from HP support up to now, so thought I would inquire here.
Thanks much for any answers.
Michael

upgrade what do you mean?
you are talking about repair, so you have a problem, you are talking about two different things..
what is your problem exactly
I advise against paying, just to do this anyway..
But a hardware problem, has nothing to do with windows, so if the computer breaks down, whatever, the warranty will have to work
Hp just says this:
HP PCs - Damage Not Covered by the HP Standard Limited Warranty | HP® Customer Support

Thank you for this reply.
"Upgrade" is the more accurate term, HP ran over an hour of diagnostics on my network card hardware and concluded it is in proper working condition.
.
Problem:::: my network keeps dropping out all the time. I must continually reboot the network connection.
.
I was then directed to prepare to run the system through a series of long tedious software downloads (I was told to get a thumb drive or similar capable of receiving up to 50 GB storage).
Once all the downloads are received, then a number of software upgrades will need to be done.
It all sounds valid, and ligit', but I simply do not have time to do all this. I'm using the computer for my business. I'll pay someone to do it all, that; no problem, I am simply trying to find out will having a third party repair (upgrade the software) on my computer invalidate the existing warrantee I have paid for and am still protected under?
.
If it's too complicated, I'll just get another computer i guess, but this thing is only a little over one year ola, really nice computer otherwise.

.If you have a problem of this type, there is no need to install a multitude of things, or to do anything like an update.
a 50 gb key for this is huge, I don't see what you are being asked, but something is not clear here!
All you have to do is update the network card, and maybe with an additional application..
And maybe a check or two..
Otherwise, this card has a problem.
it's up to you to see, but I will insist with hp, so that it is repaired
Do you have the possibility, to connect in wired, because I imagine that it is in WIFI the problem?
