Hi Thomas 19771,
Long story short, the PC was bought during a move and never realizing the HP Support Assistant was not registering my PC, I didn't think about my warranty being short changed until the month they claimed it expired. May others have complained their warranty was unexpectedly ended for them also. I found that HP had the documentation already but chose to ignore it after it was pointed out to them that their OWN records were shown to have recorded the actual date of my PC's activation of 4/30/3030. I found this out after I bought the extended warranty for $85 and it was then I found the date that they had in their records showing the "support assistant' was used to activate my HP Account. When you turn on your new HP PC, the assistant comes up immediately, and I elected to use it thinking it was going to be registering my PC since it took all my information. Silly me. So in the mean time, this charade continues and the only benefit to finding my actual receipt would be getting some refund and a better extended warranty. I have a right to complain about this and I am moving on with the information that HP has shown me and their caring for me as a long time customer. I am glad I haven't had any serious issues with the PC that I wasn't able to correct my self. I am covered for another year and hopefully it is good coverage and have confidence in. Right now that confidence is shaky, to say the least. That my story.

Hi Birdy,
There is a phone number you can call and they may work something out for you. I would hope so anyway. You need to contact HP Support . I can't give the number out on here since the last time I tried they refused to post the number. Good luck

Hi Neuburg, Don't give up. HP is a good company. From past experiences not with warranty but other issues it took several tries before something was done. My current laptop also a HP is doing great but I got it through COSTCO and is now 8 months old.
Long time HP user owner and supporter
