Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Unable to upgrade to Windows 11... I suspect it is because I only have 6 GB RAM installed. I would like to increase the RAM.

What is the maximum RAM that I can add to my 10+ year old desktop and will that resolve my Windows 11 upgrade issue?  Model p7-1380t purchased March of 2013 built and came with the following order:

YOUR CUSTOMIZED HP PC- p7qe, came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64, 3rd Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3330 quad-core processor [3.0GHz, 6MB Shared Cache], 1TB 7200 rpm SATA hard drive, No secondary hard drive, 6GB DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM [2 DIMMs],  Integrated Intel(R) HD Graphics [DVI-I & DVI-D, DX 10.1],  SuperMulti DVD Burner,  Integrated (Gigabit) Ethernet support, No wireless LAN,  15-in-1 memory card reader, 2 USB 2.0, 2 USB 3.0,  Microsoft(R) Office Starter: reduced-functionality Word & Excel w/ ads. No PowerPoint or Outlook,  No additional security software, Beats Audio (tm) -- integrated studio quality sound, HP keyboard and optical mouse, Roxio Secure Burn

Hi, @maur1ann

Your PC meets Microsoft's W11 minimum memory requirements of 4 GB.

You can't upgrade to W11 because your PC's processor does not meet Microsoft's minimum W11 processor requirements of an Intel 8th gen or newer processor.

Your PC would not support an upgrade to such a processor.

Also, your PC does not have a TPM 2.0 embedded security device which is another of Microsoft's minimum W11 hardware requirements.

If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2.

You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, then you will need to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.
