Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

In 2011, I bought an HP Pavilion P6720tr desktop computer. In the following years, in 2021, my hard disk broke down and I had to buy an SDD. When I removed the HDD, the OEM HP Windows 7 in it was gone. I have been searching on the internet for a long time, but I cannot find the final solution. I want help here. If anyone has a recovery file or something, please send it. ?

Hi @ruavell,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To recover your HP Pavilion P6720tr and reinstall the original Windows 7 operating system, you have a few options:

Option 1: HP Recovery Media

  1. Order Recovery Discs:
    • HP provides an option to order recovery media for your specific model. You can visit the HP Recovery Media page and enter your product number to see if recovery discs are available for purchase.

Option 2: Create Recovery Media from Another HP Computer

  1. Use Another HP PC:
    • If you have access to another HP computer that came with Windows 7, you can create recovery media using HP's recovery media creation tool. This may work as a generic solution, though it might not have all the original drivers for your model.

Option 3: Windows 7 Installation Media

  1. Use Microsoft Installation Media:
    • You can download a Windows 7 ISO from the Microsoft website if you have a valid product key. Use this to create a bootable USB drive or DVD:
      • Download the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool.
      • Create a bootable USB drive using the ISO.
      • Install Windows 7 from the USB drive.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
