My PC has 6 audio input jacks. I don't know which one to use for my simple basic speakers.

No, you're not wrong; you are correct, for a multi-speaker "surround-sound" setup.

It is DELIBERATE that your plug is colour-coded as GREEN -- the same colour as socket #7.

Now I know your machine. Please do not open new messages. It has the following ports at its back:

- USB 2.0: 4
- LAN (Ethernet)
- DVI-D
- DVI-I
- Audio center/subwoofer
- Audio rear speaker out
- Audio side speaker out
- Audio line-in
- Audio line-out
- Microphone
As you can see: depending on the set of your speakers you can use all 3 ports 5, 6, 7 or just port 7 for two speakers with a plug similar to

But they must have color coded, The image shown is from machine specs. You can turn your head side way to see the same layout.
