HP Elite Desk 800 Tower
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I downloaded  the microsoft Media Creative Tool from Microsoft website to upgrade windows 7 pro to Windows 10 Pro.

The Upgrade went smoothly until the message " Your computer will restart  in a few moments".

The computer restarts but I eventually get the folowing message :-

"The installation  failed in the Safe_OS phase with an error during Replicate_OC operation"

A second attempt also failed at the same point producing a similar message

"The installation  failed in the Safe_OS phase with an error during Boot operation"

My computer is restored to Windows 7 Pro

Using the Windows Update route fails immediately.SAFE_OS REPLICATE_OC.jpg

Any suggestions...

Win10 v20.04 has a host of issues right now -- to the point that MS is advising folks NOT to do the upgrade unless Windows Update offers it to them -- which your PC is not going to do.

One option would be to wait until MS finally announces that they have fixed the Win10 v20.04 issues.  This could be a few weeks; it could be several months.

An alternative is to use this tool to get an older version of Win10, suggest the November 2019 Update:  https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/67-microsoft-windows-and-office-iso-downl...

That is more stable than Win10 v20.04 and should give you less issues.
