Hi:

 

There are at least two components that won't work on W10...the onboard Radeon HD4200 graphics and the Ralink wifi card.

 

It is doubtful the 15 in 1 card reader will work either.

You're very welcome.

 

You can easily add a cheap video card.

 

You can easily purchase a USB wifi adapter if you use the wifi card to connect to the internet.

 

If the card reader didn't work, there wouldn't be anything you could do about that except to see if a retailer such as Amazon sells USB SD card readers.

 

This would be the video card I recommend for your PC.  Cheap, and will work with W10.

 

I just bought one of these to install in a HP 8000 Elite CMT.  No fan to conk out on you.

Thanks Paul, what a great reply.  Really nice that you provided links.  Reminds me of me answering posts on my favorite home theater forum (AVNirvana.com).  I know very little about PC's but a lot about HT.

 

I am trying to use my Samsung Smart TV as a monitor (DVI to HDMI adapter).  Get a great picture but no sound.  I've tried many internet search solutions, none have worked.  Do you know if there is a cheap video card that has an HDMI out on it that will still support windows 10.?   I'm thinking this might solve that audio issue.

DVI does not have the capability to transmit audio, so even if you get a DVI to HDMI cable you will not get any audio.

 

The dell card I posted has a display port output, and some cards with DP outputs do allow audio from the display port.

 

I did notice on the Dell 6450 card I bought, there is an AMD HD audio device that gets installed along with the graphics driver, so that is promising.  You would need a display port to HDMI cable to experiment with, and I don't have one of those.

 

As far as a cheap video card with straight HDMI, the AMD Radeon HD 6450 does come in that variety as well.

As a home theater enthusiast, you will appreciate that the card I posted the other day, and this one above, are fanless, which means they are completely silent, and have no fan to conk out on you.
