HP Pavilion Desktop - 500-402nd
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

(sorry if the question is already posted but I'm not able to find the answer I'm looking for)

I did a "PC Health Check" to see why my system is not able to upgrade to Win11 and it stated I need to have TPM 2.0.

I learned that for some systems this is hidden and you need to activate it in the BIOS.

The option to activate it in the BIOS is not there. It either means my BIOS doesn't show it, or my CPU doesn't support it.

I've run the "HP Support Assistant" and that indicated everything is OK (I assumed it will check on my BIOS as well). I did see a separate BIOS-upgrade but that one was not compatible with my board.

I also checked the product specification page and it doesn't show TPM (it can mean it is not support or it is just not mentioned in the specifications ..)

Questions:

- How can i figure out if my system (HP Pavalion Desktop 500-402nd) has a TPM?

- if it has TPM , do you have any advice how to switch it on?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi:

Your PC does not have a TPM security device.

In addition to not having a TPM security device, your PC's Intel Core i5 4460S processor is not an offically supported W11 processor.  It has to be an Intel 8th gen core processor.

There are no W11-supported processors you can upgrade to either.

If you want to try out W11, I can give you two ways to bypass the W11 hardware checks so you can upgrade to W11, as well as a way to go back to W10 if necessary, after the default 'Go back to W10' period expires.

Otherwise, you will have to stay on W10.
