HP Pavilion Slimline s5206uk Desktop PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

After uprgading to Windows 10, some compatibility issues led me to initiate a full system recovery. During the recovery process, an error was experienced. Now, upon starting the computer, it states that no operating system is detected. F11 input for system recovery does not do anything.

I have attempted to use the product key from the original computer to download Windows 7 onto a USB drive and install from there, but it gives the following message:

"Error:

The product key you've entered appears to be for software which was pre-installed by the device manufacturer. Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options."

I have not found Windows 7 recovery media on the HP website.

Please adivse how to proceed with the recovery.

Hi:

Unfortunately, it looks like neither HP nor their ePartner Best2Serve carry recovery media for your PC.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if the W7 x64 ISO file from the link below works for you.

I cannot verify the integrity of the file but it is the same size as the genuine file you used to be able to download from Microsoft.

You can either burn the file to a DVD using your DVD burning program's burn ISO file option, or use the utility I have zipped up and attached below to transfer the file to a DVD or 4 GB USB flash drive.
