Still not seeing any images in the posts. Click on the little scene icon just to the right of the paperclip above this box ( while in the posting mode) then pick the appropriate image to include in the post by clicking on the "browse box" then select the image and then insert image

Thank you so much for the help, I'm learning as I move along.
While trying to update the drivers the progress bar appears to be running, however nothing happens.
The result of the sfc /scannow - "Window Resource Protection did not find any intergrity violations."
The light on the rear of the modem is still red.

OK, I can see the images now. It does appear that the drivers are installed properly for the network adapter. That popup about MMC not finding gpedit.msc might be caused by the program not being installed properly. See HERE on a guide that might help with that.
Now with the red light on the modem. Assuming the port that is being used actually works, lets switch the ethernet leads. Move the one that works to the one giving the red light, to see if the other computer will work from that port. If that produces a good test, then try a different ethernet cable for the one that does not work, or switch the computers all together. Plug the working computer's ethernet cable into the non-working computer at the computer end of the cable. If the light on the modem turns red, then there might be a hardware problem on this non-working computer.
Report back with blow by blow results and maybe we can get this solved.

okay, I preformed the "gpedit.msc" fix, how still not running the windows updates and when I run the troubleshooter i get the following message
Regarding the modem, I tried different cables and ports only to get the same result. Comcast continues to say there is "no issue" with their modem. the computer connects to the internet and has the ability to download programs, however it will not run the windows updates.
I did an internet speed test the results are as follows: ping 16ms download speed 88.71 Mbps upload 6.11 Mbps

I am out of suggestions. The red light indicates there is a problem with the connection. But, since I am not an internet modem expert, I do not know what to do about it.
